A 10-year-old boy is being treated in a Buffalo hospital after sustaining what paramedics are calling a traumatic head injury that resulted from a fall from a golf cart at Sherkston Shores Beach Resort and Campground Monday evening.
The private Lake Erie resort is located in rural Port Colborne, not far from the Fort Erie border.
Port Colborne Fire and Emergency Services and Niagara EMS were dispatched at about 7:10 p.m. Niagara Regional Police were not called to the scene.
Initial reports from EMS are that the boy fell from the golf cart and struck his head on a concrete surface.
He was taken by ambulance to Women and Children?s Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.
Security at the resort's front gates declined to comment on the incident. Management was not immediately available onsite to comment.
No other details were available at press time.
