(KMOV) ? They may be interleague rivals, but the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City?Royals are coming together to help Joplin tornado victims.

This weekend, when the Cards host the Royals, the two teams will have a special patch?that shows a united commitment to rebuilding?Joplin embroidered on player jerseys.

The patch, which is shaped like the state of Missouri and says, ?Teams Unite for Joplin,? can be purchased for $10.

Both teams are also holding several TV, radio and online auctions, in which baseball fans can purchase commemorative merchandise, to raise money for the cause.

All proceeds raised from the fundraiser will be collected and distributed through Cardinals Care, as the intrastate rivals want to provide relief to area children.

It is estimated that it will cost $1.9-3 billion to rebuild Joplin after?an EF5 tornado devistated the town on May 22.
